Second Trip to Woodlands

A black spider in the hot pink flower in our front yard officially kicked off my second trip to Woodlands.

On Friday evening during the Memorial weekend, we arrived the Woodlands house in Round top in New York State. The bright orange poppy outside the house welcomed us.

Sylvia arrived earlier than me and she helped me to move my backpack in the house.

I felt so relieved to see that my favorite door was still there. It condensed part of my memories of my first trip here.

Thanks to Mary-Jane and Li-wen, we formed non-Go player team to explore the Catskill area.

On Saturday, we visited Frederic E. Church House (Olana). I stayed interested in the house during the one-hour tour, which means that I did not need Mama to chase me all over the place.  Of course, Sylvia needed to put me back to the track from time to time.

On Saturday afternoon, I supervised the outdoor activities for the adults. They really needed someone like me to watch them.

Watch out, Sylvia!

A 3D painting in the kitchen!

On Sunday, we went to the famous Kaaterskil
l Falls.

The prince of the waterfall!

The princess of the waterfall!

The professional photographer queen of the waterfall!

Do I have a duck mouth? Apparently I do.

Take a break from waterfall and sit with the Empress of the waterfall, Mary-Jane.

Hmm, Mama's kiss is the sweetest in the world!

Enjoying Nature (IV): Moorse Hill

It was time for us to continue to explore the nature. This time, we went to Moorse Hill in Sharon.

Guoguo's dady threw Guoguo into the air to warm her up to get ready for the hiking.

Guoguo's Mom fed me finger cookies to warm me up. These finger cookies she made were very delicious. I haven't eaten such yummy cookies in thousands of years except for the one that Baba made.

Maybe I had enough cookies for now. Let's start the journey.

At that start of the shortest trial of Moorse Hill, Guo guo's Mama got Didi prepared for the hiking.

We are all ready for the hiking!

Guoguo, let's help each other to finish the trail.

We melted into the green.

Wow, flowers and flower girls!

Lex, did you have a good time?

Baba led us to a local ice cream store to celebrate our success, finishing the shortest trail in Moore Hill! Yeah!

Building A Garden

Mimi, Mama and I worked together with Baba to close up his half year project, building a garden in our front yard. Starting from last year, Baba has been working on the construction of the foundation, building bricks frame and leveraging the land with tons of soil.

We went to a nearby place, River's Edge Garden Center, to select the herbs and flowers for the garden. Mimi searched this place online the day before, which was the Mother's day. Then, we went out to eat dinner to celebrate the Mother's day. In the restaurant, a lady sat at a table beside us started a conversation with us. What a coincidence!  We found out that she is one of the owners of the River's Edge Garden Center. There she was! She was in blue shirt in this picture.

Pull, pull, pull. You got to use all your muscles.

Mimi and Baba were getting advices on what to buy.

What a beautiful combination!

We almost finished. Mimi dragged a full of pots in her wagon. My wagon was still sort of empty. However, I helped.

Here is our garden. Still need 10 more bags of soil to leverage the land.

Mimi and Baba, you need to water the plants, right?

Tens of herbs have been planted by Mimi, Mama and Baba. Those included rosemary, basel, thyme, sage, savory and marjoram.

Not only Mimi helped us to build the garden in the front yard, she also made a small flower garden in pots for our deck.
