Happy Birthday, Captain Lex

May is the birthday month for me and Lex. His birthday is on the top of May, 4th and mine is near the bottom of May, 21st. Our birthday dates imposed a technical difficulty to Mimi and Papa who have to take an airplane to see us. However, they used their wisdom to solve it, coming in the middle of May to celebrate both of our birthdays!

Unlike his usual birthday parties, Lex will celebrate his 4th birthday differently this year. He is going to sail on a sea for the first time in his whole life. On May, 9th, we boarded on Schooner Adirondack II from Bowen's Wharf, Newport. It was the opening day of sailing season in Newport. Even though the weather in the land was already enjoyable, it was very cold on the boat, like a windy winter day.

Everything on the sailing boat was new to Lex. He "bribed" one of the crews to let him see the engine of the boat using his cuteness. And he also made the Captain Issac volunteer to teach him to sail the boat.

 .

Luckily, he only let him to steer the boat for several minutes. Otherwise, more boats would have sailed out to search for us.

Look, a hoody family!

When we came back from sailing, Baba baked a birthday cake dedicated for both of our birthdays. Baba's good friend at work, Micky, designed a drawing for the topping of the cake,  Dinosaur Mario   riding a motorcycle. Baba transformed it on the cake.

After Guoguo's party, we enjoyed the spring in our front yard.

Spring (I): Tasty Spring

I had a bite of Spring in our front yard.

Yes, Baba made pancakes for us. How did it taste? I thought it was not bad, and it was actually yummy.

 Who was calling me?

How did I do? I made lots of progress in no time.

Wow, cool helmet! May I try it on?

Gege, please read this book to me.

Gege, continue to read and do not mind of me please.

Adada, I love your chubby cheeks, said Guoguo Jiejie (姐姐, elder sister).

Lele Gege, the rocks tasted good.

Spring finally arrived in new England. Besides the outdoor fun activities, we did not forget to have fun indoors.

Ski, Skate & Lego

March to some places is the start of Spring,  but to Boston, it is still in the middle of winter. Being three years old than me, Lex started to taste some of the serious winter activities.

He took his first private ski lesson at the Wachusett Mountain Ski area.

Do I slide like this?

Follow me, Lex!

Fly like a bird.

Besides skiing, he also took a six week session of skate class. Here was a video of his first skate lesson.

He continued his passion for building Legos. One day, he and Baba build a fort using up all the Lego blocks on the Lego table in Barns Noble book store.

Be a little guest

Fenni Ayi is one of my mom's best friends. Mom loves to go over to her house to relax, chatting, doing nothing and eating good food. Without Zoe Jiejie (姐姐, sister) being at home, Lex Gege easily got bored after he explored the toys in the house. For me, Fenni Ayi and her house is another enjoyable world.
