May is the birthday month for me and Lex. His birthday is on the top of May, 4th and mine is near the bottom of May, 21st. Our birthday dates imposed a technical difficulty to Mimi and Papa who have to take an airplane to see us. However, they used their wisdom to solve it, coming in the middle of May to celebrate both of our birthdays!
Unlike his usual birthday parties, Lex will celebrate his 4th birthday differently this year. He is going to sail on a sea for the first time in his whole life. On May, 9th, we boarded on Schooner Adirondack II from Bowen's Wharf, Newport. It was the opening day of sailing season in Newport. Even though the weather in the land was already enjoyable, it was very cold on the boat, like a windy winter day.
Everything on the sailing boat was new to Lex. He "bribed" one of the crews to let him see the engine of the boat using his cuteness. And he also made the Captain Issac volunteer to teach him to sail the boat.
Luckily, he only let him to steer the boat for several minutes. Otherwise, more boats would have sailed out to search for us.
Look, a hoody family!
When we came back from sailing, Baba baked a birthday cake dedicated for both of our birthdays. Baba's good friend at work, Micky, designed a drawing for the topping of the cake, Dinosaur Mario riding a motorcycle. Baba transformed it on the cake.
One; One, two, three, four, blow the candles!
