Cushing Park & Others

When summer started, there were numerous exciting events happening, such as the Hampton beach, Crane beach and the playground along Charles river. Meantime, we also enjoyed our neighbor in this beautiful season.

Cushing memorial park is one of our favorite parks that we frequently visits near our house. Even though the playground inside the park is small, it has lots of features that other playgrounds do not have. One of the features is the red train.

The other one is the seesaw.

Besides Cushing park, the Learned pond is another beauty near our house. When there is no other things planned for the weekends, Mama always takes me there in the morning.

Finally, I would like to mention a milestone I reached at age thirteen months, which is I can eat by myself. Can you believe it?!

Stoneman Playground on the Esplanade

Finally, Mama did it. She brought us to the Stoneman playground on the Esplanade. The Esplanade was Mama's favorite place in Boston.  Whenever Mama had chance to come to town, she would manage a walk cross Harvard Bridge and on some part of the Esplanade. Whenever she was on the Esplanade, she would think that she will bring Lex and Ada to the playgrounds along Charles river some day. Yes, She finally made it happen!

In a Sunday afternoon, we tasted Urban's kids' life. It was sunny and windy. The bridges, flowing water on Charles river, high buildings, green trees, all mingled together. Maybe that was the flavor of Urban life.

Lex made a friend in no time.

Crane Beach

Mama got a beach fever after a day in Hampton Beach in the early June. She planned with Guoguo's family for another beach trip near the end of June. This time, she thought she was a beach Pro because she understood how important a shading equipment is. She bought a bright red huge beach umbrella for this trip and we ended up not using it.

We went to the Crane Beach in a late Saturday afternoon after a morning rain. When the sun came back, Mama called Sissi and said 'Let's go'.

Crane Beach is the most beautiful beach I ever seen. Hampton beach was fun, but it was also very commercialized. I felt more close to the nature on the Crane Beach. It looked that it hasn't been touched by the Civilization. Pure beauty!

Summer team met up with the winter team!

Lex and Guoguo played "make your feet dirty, run to the water, run away from the water" game.

I played solo dance on the fine and soft sand.

You can break the floor

One hour later, winter team could not stand the attack from black head mosquitoes on the beach and announced to retreat. Our summer team received a update later that the Lele's neck was full of mosquito bites despite being fully protected by the "winter" outfits. Luckily, all summer team members were fine even we were not fully covered by our summer outfits.

Hampton Beach in Early June

June usually is not the beach season for New England weather. But, this year is an exception. There were several days in the beginning of June made people to think that we were already in deep summer.

It was on one of these hot mornings, both Lex and I were still dreaming in a dream. I dreamed about that I was lifted up by a magic force and transferred to a magic vehicle. When I opened my eyes, I saw this,

Was I still in a dream?!

We won the race to come to Hampton beach earlier than our friends. But they are the ones who had all the gears needed for a beach day. First, we set up a tent for the people and a small tent for all the food and drinks. Then, we dig holes in the sand. Why? The tent on the beach is set very low so it can shaded the people from the sun light all day long. It was too low to put chair underneath the tent and have people sit on it comfortably. Got it? See how important it is to come to the beach with experienced friends.

Wasn't Lex the happiest boy in the world?! He couldn't have his mouth closed, thinking about all the fun he is going to have the entire day.

Let's get start. The orange bucket Lex was holding was his one year graduation gift from FACE children center.

Then, Lex and Mama played running games together. Lex said, Mama, put the sand on your feet, make your feet dirty, and gooooooooo! Aaaaaaaaa ! The water is coming, let's run away from it. He kept running back and forth inexhaustibly.

Take a look of our beach play Pros!

Adaaaa, May I play with you?

They were laughing, but I didn't know why.

I puzzled.  I tried to ask nicely, and I tried.

They still hadn't not given me an answer.

Lex was tired and he laid down under the big beach umbrella. He looked very relaxed!

Ada, don't take the umbrella away....
